Your Data, Explained Plainly
What we collect, why we collect it, and the control you keep over your own body composition data.
Last updated: June 2026
Body composition data is personal in a way most other data isn't, so this page sets out plainly what Hume Health Corp collects through humepod.uk and the Hume Health app, what happens to it afterwards, and the say you have in the matter as a UK customer.
1. What We Collect
Directly from you
- The basics โ name, email, delivery address, and payment details โ when you place an order or set up an account.
- Anything you tell us when you get in touch with support.
From the scale and app
- Body composition readings โ weight, body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat, bone mass, body water, and segmental data โ that power the readings shown in the app.
- Basic technical details โ device model, app version, general usage patterns โ that help keep the service running smoothly.
2. What We Do With It
- Turn your raw sensor readings into the trends and insights displayed in the app.
- Process and dispatch your order, and handle any return or warranty request.
- Answer you when you contact our support team.
- Refine our sensors and algorithms over time, typically using data that's aggregated or stripped of identifying detail.
- Send order-related messages, and โ only where you've opted in โ the occasional product update.
3. It Stays Your Data
Your body composition history belongs to you. Export it from the Hume Health app whenever you like, and if you'd rather we deleted your account and everything in it, contact support โ we action deletion requests within 30 days, aside from records we're legally obliged to retain (order history for tax purposes, for example).
4. Sharing Your Data
Your body composition data is never sold. It's shared only in a handful of specific situations:
- Vendors who help us operate โ payment processors, delivery partners, cloud hosting โ under contracts that restrict what they can do with it.
- Legal obligations, where we're required to disclose something under law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
- A business sale or merger, should that ever occur, under the same privacy commitments set out here.
5. How It's Protected
Data in transit and at rest is encrypted using industry-standard methods, and internal access is limited to people who genuinely need it to do their jobs. Nothing is completely airtight, but given what's at stake with health information, we treat this seriously.
6. Cookies
The website uses cookies to remember preferences, keep you signed in, and understand broadly how the site is used. You can disable these in your browser, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them.
7. Your Rights
As a UK resident, you have rights under UK GDPR to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link they contain. Reach out using the contact details below to act on any of this.
8. Children
We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and the Services aren't aimed at children. If you believe a child has shared data with us, let us know and we'll remove it.
9. Data Transfers
If you're using our Services from outside the UK, or where our processors operate overseas, your data may cross borders in the course of being handled. We aim to keep protections consistent with this Policy regardless of where processing takes place.
10. Updates to This Policy
This page is updated occasionally, reflected in the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll flag it more directly โ an in-app notice or an email, for example.
